Our department has a fleet of tens of thousands of cars in the Ministry of Defence and those vehicles account for a tiny fraction.
But whether you’re traveling in a Chinese car or a car from another country, what we’ve asked our staff is not to plug MoD devices into their vehicle, to avoid having conversations at a secret classification in any kind of vehicle, because of the increasing threats of surveillance that are present in all automobile, to restrict those confidential conversations in protected areas. This is a wise and reasonable thing for anyone worried about safety.

When it was suggested that it would be wise for the MoD to cease using all Chinese vehicles, Pollard responded: That is precisely what we are looking into at the moment.”
