Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces

A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden championship for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with former mentor Cervara.

Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's first title following the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt after March of that year.

Victory also means the Russian has won 21 titles at 21 various tournaments.

"For the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and frequent reactions on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his capacity to perform at the top level was finished.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an better serving game.

He recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his maiden tour victory, seized the initiative to create a final set.

He rescued 4 early break points in a competitive third set before the champion broke to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner earned the win with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
